A truly International quality colt by Bretton Woods out of stallion mother & State Premium mare Ronja. Bravado is destined to be a Top Class dressage horse and Stallion Prospect.  His movement puts him in a class of his own. He is incredibly athletic with an active hind leg & a canter that extends and collects effortlessly - he did his first pirouette in the barn at 8 hours old! His walk is active with a big over track and he has inherited his sire's powerful trot. His dam and grand dam have both produced a graded stallion and we have high hopes this colt will be the next one!

This is the second Bretton Woods foal we have had and I am exceptionally impressed with both of them and with him as a sire - having said that both foals are from Elite mothers too so that really helps! I am totally smitten with this wonderful colt and more than a bit in love with him!

September 2012
Bravado is awarded Premium status by the Oldenburg Verband who praised his type, conformation and movement.

Sire Bretton Woods
Bretton Woods is by Johnson out of Annabel Elite (by De Niro x Romancier x Troublemaker) who incidentally is also the dam of the licensed stallion Chagall by Jazz! Bretton Woods won the Princes Dressage Trophy in autumn 2009 and went on to win the VSN Trophy in Ermelo in January 2010 having scored the highest marks in Holland in the qualifying rounds.   He also won his KWPN Stallion Performance Test in 2010 with an overall score of 84.5 points. He scored a 7.5 for walk, 8.5 for trot, 9 for canter, 8.5 for suppleness, 9 for self carriage, 8 for rideability/character and 9 for dressage potential. In 2011 he qualified for the World Breeding Championships and received the Bronze medal in the 5 year old class.

His sire Johnson (by Jazz) was overall champion of the KWPN stallion show in 2005, top ranked in the stallion series 2006-07 and 6th in the World Championships in Verden in 2007.  He went on to win the M-level final of the KWPN stallion championship 2008.  In February 2011 he won the VHO trophy by an easy margin.

Dam St. Pr. St. Ronja
Ronja is a wonderful State Premium, performance tested Hanoverian mare by Rotspon. She comes from a very successful family, her dam is also State Premium mare, by the legendary stallion Weltmeyer.

St.Pr.St. Ronja has already bred a graded Stallion just like her dam St.Pr.St. Wanja who bred the Premium graded stallion, Blue Hors Lodestar - who of course is Ronja’s. Ronja's dam St.Pr. St. Wanja was a very good sport horse in addition to breeding the Premium stallion Blue Hors Lodestar and of course Ronja and her other sisters and brothers! . As a three year old St.Pr. St. Wanja out of nine competitions was placed First 5 times and 4 times Second to Fourth place. Her grandmother "Ballerina" was even better. She was First nine times and 6 times Second and 4 times third or fourth from 19 starts!

Many of her Ronja's foals have been selected and sold through the Verden Elite auction. Her 2006 foal Darnell by Don Frederico was purchased as a foal by Paul Schockemöhle, went on to grade with the Oldenburg Verband in 2008 and sold in 2010 at the PSI Auction for 190,000 Euros! Her 2008 filly also by Don Frederico was Champion 2 year old and received the 1a Prize at a mare show in 2010 and has now been awarded State Premium status.

Ronja's sire Rotspon is by the legendary stallion Rubinstein I. Like his father, Rotspon has spectacular movement, a beautiful temperament and outstanding ability. He has an incredible rideability as does his foals. His first foals totally met the high expectations of Celle. Numerous foals have already enriched the Verden foal auctions. His foals have beautiful heads and a good conformation and they have a very elastic trot and a ground covering walk. In 2009, 29 offspring were terrific advertisements for their sire in advanced level dressage tests. He has 17 licensed sons, 134 state premium mares, 496 main stud book mares, and 209 auction horses. Winning sum of progeny Euro 248,890. He is recognised as one of the top dressage sires in Germany and is fifth place among the top 5% of all national dressage stallions. At his performance test in Adelheidsdorf in 1998 Rotspon was overall Champion and Dressage Champion. He has a character and temperament score of 9. A conformation score of 8, a jumping ability score of 8 and rideability scores of 9 and 10. He has an outstanding walk score of 8, (the average is 6.3) his trot is also very high of 8.33 (against the average of 6.38). His canter score of 9 puts him again well above the average.

Weltmeyer (World Cup I) is considered to be one of the All Time Great Hanoverian sires. With his breathtaking movement and presence, Weltmeyer won his Stallion Performance Test in 1987 placing first in dressage with 143.94 points and third in jumping with 141.44. In 1989, he was Stallion Conformation Champion and DLG Champion and in 1998, he was named "Stallion of the Year". As a sire, Weltmeyer has proven himself to be a producer of Champions. To date, he has produced 70 Approved sons, 242 State Premium mares and countless top riding horses. It is no wonder that Weltmeyer is considered to be the "Stallion of the Century".
