We are over the moon with this fabulous colt, the first foal from our magnificent mare OLHPR Larkshill Mystique OLD. All this boy wants to do is canter, which perhaps is not surprising as his mama got a 10 for her canter at her performance test and his papa Secret got a 10 for his canter at the World Young Horse Championships.   He has world class genes coming from the direct family of Fürstenball with Triple World Champion Sezuan in the mix! This colt seduces everyone he meets so we have called him Seductive!  We are super excited about his future.He will be retained as a future competition horse.

Larkshill Millenia is a rare find, super talented, exceptionally well bred, very trainable, easy under saddle and an absolute sweetheart.

She was bred and raised in the UK by us and then in February this year went to Germany to be backed  under the watchful eye of our World champion rider Anne-Kathrin Pohlmeier, Millenia took everything in her stride, the travel, backing  and proved to be super easy and sweet under saddle. She is now home in the UK, turned away and enjoying a summer in the fields with her herd.

She has an outstanding hind leg and moves with a lot of elasticity, She has an exceptional walk, her trot is cadenced, full of suspension with tremendous reach in her forelimb inherited from her sire, her canter was amazing as a foal although she mostly wants to show off her fabulous trot at the moment! We really think she would be an ideal transition from ponies to horses for a young rider.

Millenia is bred in the purple and comes from a super talented family. By Champion stallion Millennium out of our wonderful State Premium mare Ronja who is by Rotspon x Weltmeyer. St Pr St Ronja has already produced an Oldenburg licensed stallion, two state premium daughters and many champion foals. She always passes on her amazing temperament and her 2013 foal Larkshill Divinity is now a para horse for European champion triple gold medallist para rider Julie Payne! Millenia comes from 3 generations of State Premium mares and her grandmother also produced a licenced stallion, so it runs in the family!

She had x-rays taken in February which were clean, she has had her teeth done and is good with the farrier and to worm and all vaccinations ae up to date.

This delightful mare is looking for a top class competition home and is a really spectacular future dressage prospect and with her exceptional bloodlines and conformation she would also be a tremendous asset for breeding.

What a way to start the foaling season! Our wonderful Elite Sport Prok mare Bugatti has done it again and given us another superb black filly this time by Jameson RS2.

Jameson RS2 was the undisputed Champion at the KWPN stallion licencing, he then won his performance test as a 4-year-old and then he went on to win the Pavo Cup! Regularly scoring 10 for his canter, we are delighted that canter is this filly's favourite thing!

We are enchanted with this beautiful filly. She is everything we hoped for and more! we ahve called her Larkshill Brilliance

Larkshill Stud does it right and it shows.Heather has purposefully and meticulously made her breeding selections for her stud for rideability, athleticism, beauty, and health. I have been following her breeding for years and was lucky enough to purchase her fourth generation filly, Larkshill Secret Love!

Heather gives her young offspring the very best start, from proper feeding, hoof care, deworming, and veterinary visits when needed. Most importantly, Larkshill stud lets horses develop as nature intended them to. There are rolling pastures, spacious run in barns, large clean stalls, and excellent footing in the outdoor arena.

My filly needed to be prepared to load and travel on an airplane. Due to the great start that Heather gave her, she handled it with ease, and my little filly showed the other foals how they needed to travel! Now safely in Florida, my filly is first and foremost gorgeous, a complete eye-catcher. She is well bred, confident, and super sweet, like a puppy dog. Her gaits are stunning and balanced and I have hopes of riding down the center line doing a Grand Prix test with her one day, and having fun doing it!

I love this photo from 11 years ago, it shows how relaxed and how close our horses are  -  living as a herd. We want to give our horses the best start in life.
For us that's allowing them to live as naturally as possible in herds and do what nature intended - grazing 24 hours a day if they choose and galloping and playing in the fields. Studies have shown that this natural exercise is essential to strengthen the young horses’ tendons and young muscles and to keep mares fit .....ready to run after their new foals!  or this reason, our horses live as a herd and live out all year round, with free access to big barns full of hay and straw in the winter - coming and going as they please.

Being in the herd environment means that the young horses learn those essential social skills from the older horses. We are so proud that we have  3 generations living together.

We nurture our little stars ensuring they have the very best start in life.  They are handled every day and we keep numbers low so each horse can have the attention they deserve. We make all new experiences fun for them - the end result is well behaved loveable young horses that are eager to work.

What a lovely way to start the Christmas festivities, a trip to Verden to see our horses and visit the Christmas markets!

All the young horses are looking super and the ridden horses are all developing well in the safe hands  of our wonderful rider Anne-Kathrin Pohlmeier. She currently has Larkshill Seduction, Larkshill Mystique and Larkshill Amorous in training, soon to be joined by Larkshill Millenia! Some exciting times ahead!!

Our two foals from Vice World Champion Secret continue to exceed our expectations! Larkshill Supersonic (Secret / Apache / Florestan) lived up to his name when presented to the Oldenburg Verband and was awarded the Elite premium award and also designated a stallion prospect! Supersonic is owned in partnership with Alice Whitefield and will be raised as a stallion prospect and competition horse for our rider Anne-Kathrin Pohlmeier.

Our very precious 3rd generation bred filly Larkshill Secret Love by Secret / Fürst Heinrich / De Niro was also awarded a premium, she is such a cool character like her dam and she has found a wonderful new home with Alissa Dragstedt in Florida! Thank you to Rainer Ahlers and Peer Eitenmüller for their great feedback and to my wonderful team Jessica Robb, Nikki McSweeney and Rob Pollard. It really is a team effort and I could do it without you all!

We have had a wonderful few days watching OLH Pr. Larkshill Mystique at the Elite mare show in Rastede and her compete at the Oldenburger Landesturnier. What a privilege to be there.

I am absolutely thrilled that she was crowned Vice Champion on an overall score of 8.7 with 9.5 for the canter AND best of all selected to represent the Oldenburg Verband at the Bundeschampionate!

History is repeating Itself as her full sister St.Pr St Larkshill Magnifique OLD also did this in 2017!!

I am so proud as Mystique is now the second mare from our breeding programme to be invited to Rastede.

Her full sister  St. Pr.St. Larkshill Magnifique OLD also went and also got a 10 for her canter! Magnifique went on to be the Reserve Oldenburger Riding Champion and represented the Oldenburger Verband at the Bundeschampionate coming 7th!

Huge thanks must also go to the late great Georg Sieverding for breeding her dam Elite/ Pr Machita and allowing me to  have her in our breeding programme all those years ago.

Machita arrived in the UK as a newly performance tested mare as a 3 year old and has gone on to have some amazing foals.

Georg was so supportive of our breeding programme and taught me so much, he holds a special place in my heart.

Le Formidable was the worthy Champion! Not only amazing bloodlines by Bordeaux x Ferro x De Niro his dam Vienna is elite pref prest PROK but spectacular movement!

Other higlights included Black Magic, a display of the legendary Totilas and his sons and grandsons which was so magical!

The finale included a meeting of the 3 best known Totilas' sons Governor (Adelinde Cornelissen), Toto Jr (Hans Peter Minderhoud) and Total U.S. (Edward Gal).with their sire, followed by a lap of honour!

We have just returned from a fabulous week in Germany to see our young horses and watch the Hanoverian Championships.

The highlight for us was seeing Larkshill Mystique (Ampère x Elite / Pr St Machita) and Larkshill Seduction (Sezuan x Elite Pr St Larkshill Supremacy).

Both horses are 3 years old and whilst Seduction (now a gelding) was ready to be backed and gently started we felt Mystique would benefit for another spring and summer in the field before coming in to be started this Autumn.  For us there is no rush and we must go at the pace that is right for each individual horse.

Introducing our treasured Millennium colt out of stallion mother and State Premium mare Ronja (Rotspon x Weltmeyer).

He is everything that we dreamed of and more and holds a very special place in our hearts as it will be Ronja's last foal. It was also a red bag delivery so his safe arrival is even more special.

I am super excited that these 2 top foals have secured an amazing competition home. Phoebe and Camille are such a great team, with Camille not only the eyes on ground for Phoebe at competitions but also helping with all the ground work and taking charge of all the marketing.

We are thrilled to announce this outstanding colt by Vice Bundeschampion Secret out of our wonderful mare Faye by Apache x Florestan. We have called him Larkshill Supernatural!

What a year Magnifique is having!!

Awarded the State Premium title , invited to Rastede, Vice Champion at the Oldenburger Landesturnier and then asked to compete at the Bundeschampionate coming 7th.

The German Oldenburg breed society has honoured Magnifique with the OLD designation!

The OLD suffix is only awarded to the best Oldenburg bred horses which will promote the breed at high profile dressage competitions world wide.

We are so proud of her and pleased for her owner Olivier Debilde.

I am so incredibly proud to announce that Larkshill Magnifique by Ampere x Pr St Machita has been invited to compete Rastede,  the Elite Oldenburg show!

Magnifique has just completed her mare performance test in Germany with a 10 for her canter, 9 for rideability and 8.5 for trot and been awarded the State Premium title!! Huge thanks go to her owner Olivier Debilde in Belgium who bought her as a foal unseen and on my word that she was a good foal, he has given her every opportunity to realise her potential and I am forever grateful to him.

Introducing our last foal and she was certainly worth the wait!

By the Legendary Negro out of our wonderful Florencio mare Andorra AK. We are enchanted with this beautiful foal, she is so angelic we just had to call her Larkshill Angelic!

She is tall and strong with a most beautiful head and loves attention, she is totally adorable in every way. Congratulations to Sammy Harrison for purchasing this magnificent foal in utero.

Wow what a foal! Performance test champion Dettori ( Desperado x De Niro) and Faye have produced a truly exceptional foal. We are thrilled with this latest edition, she is expressive, with an outstanding hind leg and super mechanics.  She is also very beautiful and has an exquisite head and is very feminine! She has a big personality and we have called her Larkshill Mischievous!

She will be one to watch for the future for sure. We are delighted that Olivia Oakeley has purchased her as a future competition horse as we are delighted to have have retained a share in her! Exciting times ahead!!

Spellbound is  everything we dreamed of tall, elegant, powerful and exudes class. She is the from the first foal crop of the mega moving young premium stallion Revolution and she is everything we hoped for and more. Of course her sire is only half of the equation, her dam Elite & State Premium mare and stallion mother Show Hit is already creating her own dynasty and this young filly is a very worthy addition.
This filly is totally enchanting and casts a spell over everyone she meets, so we just had to call her Spellbound!! Congratulations to family Tottman on having the foresight to purchase this exceptional filly in utero, we wish you a very happy and successful future with her!

She is everything that I dreamed of and more and holds a very special place in my heart as it may be the last filly we have from Ronja…….. and dare I say it she has saved the best until last!

But then with such an extraordinary mare who has already produced a aliened stallion, state premium daughters and who is half-sister to stallion Blue Hors Lodestar, it doesn’t come as a surprise but such a great joy.

Well I am loving our Dream Boy foals this year the second one to be born is a stunning black filly, out of our wonderful home bred mare Pr St Larkshill Supremacy. Some foals are just born with that extra bit of sparkle and this filly is one of them! She is athletic, always uphill in her movement and reminds me a lot of her big sister St Pr St Larkshill Scandalous!  
This is second generation breeding for us and so this filly is extra special. She has a beautiful head and expression and is already showing a mega canter and tremendous suppleness through her body. We are thrilled with this latest edition to Pr St Larkshill Supremacy's dynasty!

What a way to start the foaling season! Our wonderful Elite mare Bugatti has done it again and given us another superb black colt this time by Dream Boy (Vivaldi x Ferro) . Canter is definitely going to be his thing – that’s all he wants to do all day, along with learning new things, he is very confident boy and takes everything in his stride - he is a delight!

We are thrilled with him and think he is going to be a serious dressage prospect and maybe even a stallion - he certainly has the bloodlines and the swagger!

This year’s KWPN stallion licensing was jam packed with super stallions and a wonderful tribute to Valegro which I feel privileged to experience.

Starting with the licensing my favourite and many other peoples was Jameson (by Zack out of keur mare Atilinda M (by Negro x Krack C) and he was proclaimed Champion. I think what stood out for me was his balance and self-carriage which was exceptional and he will be one to watch under saddle.

Just back from another wonderful trip to Germany to see visit our homebred horses and watch the Oldenburg stallion licensing. My champion (and I think many other people's) was the Zack x Sandro Hit but alas not eligible for the premium ring as has a Danish brand. The 2nd reserve champion was my other favourite Ampere x Lorentin whilst immature he was super elastic on the lunge. 1st reserve was the super moving Fürstenball x Quattro B and the 2016 Champion was another Fürstenball son this time damsire Sandro Hit, not my favourite but very much the Oldenburg type.

Another spectacular colt from the mating of Double World Champion stallion Sezuan and the very beautiful Andorra AK by Florencio who was also Double World Champion too! There are a lot of Champion genes in this boy that's for sure!

This stunning young colt is big and upstanding with a lovely topline and a super powerful hind leg. He has beautiful type, long legs and with lots of bling! I can't take my eyes off him, he is mesmerizing and has captured my heart.

Finally an Ampere colt !! We kept his super star full sister Mystique last year and we have been dreaming of a colt and what a colt!

With wonderful type, long legs and super paces we are thrilled with him. His dam Pr St Machita was bred by Oldenburg royalty Georg Sieverding. From Machita's mare line come the Champion stallions Fürstenball and Sieger Hit and many more. His sire Ampere was Champion of the KWPN stallion licensing, then Champion of the performance test and has bred a Champion stallions. We are very excited about this colt's future!

Introducing our latest arrival - A magnificent colt by the legendary Vivaldi! I have always wanted a Vivaldi foal and he is everything I wished for and more. Gloriously uphill, huge ground covering paces, bold, confident and just a bit cheeky - just how I like them!

As a sire, Vivaldi is recognised globally, in Germany alone 19 of his sons have been licensed. In the Netherlands, his progeny are already counted amongst the top dressage horses. His dam is our homebred Pr. St. Larkshill Supremacy by De Niro who is the full sister to Larkshill Debonair licensed stallion and Badmington Young Horse Champion.

So we have a stunning filly by Negro out of Elite mare Bugatti (Discovery / Don Schufro). She is every bit as impressive as her two big brothers, Larkshill Icon & Jubilant. She is a little powerhouse very energetic and loves showing off already. She is bold, confident and totally sure she is a princess - ready to be worshiped by everyone! His sire is the legendary Negro, sire of Charlotte Dujardin's Olympic and World Champion Valegro. Her mother is the highly graded Elite mare Bugatti ST, who's pedigree boosts 3 generations of Elite Mares who also have the coveted Sports predicate. Supremacy is in foal to Vivaldi for 2016!

We have had another wonderful trip to Germany to see visit our homebred horses over there and to watch the Oldenburg stallion licensing.

I have to admit that this year the quality of the the crop didn’t seem to be quite as good and there was no stand out Champion as there often is. In the end it was a very beautiful Benicio x Sir Donnerhall x Rubinstein called Bonds was proclaimed Champion (pictured left) and the reserve Champion was a Foundation x Del Martino who had a mega trot but for me wasn’t the complete package.

I am feeling very happy and proud of my little Oldenburg stars Devotion (De Niro x Show Star), Seduction ( Sezuan x De Niro) and Mystique (Ampere x Samarant) - all 3 received the Foal Premium!

The judges said it was our best foal crop yet, which I have to admit brought a tear to my eye. It means so much to get such detailed and knowledgeable feedback on all the foals and makes all the long hours, hard work, endless stallion research and the ups and downs of breeding worthwhile!

What an honour to watch Sezuan, super sire of 5 of our horses, become double World Champion!! The crowd started to clap as he came down the last centre line and he proudly stood in a square halt with the stadium erupting around him, he knew he was the Champion!

Just like last year he did it in style scoring two times ten ending on a final mark of 9.72! We are so excited to see what the future holds for the Sezuan Larkshill babies Absolut, Sensation, Spectacular, Allure and Seduction and another one due next year!

Introducing the full brother to Licensed stallion & Badminton Young Horse Champion Larkshill Debonair & Premium graded and BEF Elite mare Larkshill Supremacy! Debonair returns from Germany with his Oldenburg Hengstbuch I status for 2015 and just to prove the point, with a brilliant ride from Lesley Peyton-Gilbert he qualified with 88% for the 2015 Badminton Young Horse Championships which he won last year as a four year old.
Congratulations to his owner Bruce Matthews, Lesley for a great performance having only ridden him for the 5th time! I am a very proud breeder. We are pleased to introduce to the world a very special little lady who has already been sold at only 4 days old! St. Pr.St. Ronja & Don Frederico have done it again and given us another beautiful foal. Her famous full siblings including Darnell, licensed stallion, St.Pr.St. Diva reserve young horse Champion in South Africa and Duchesse PSG in Germany! Debutante has outstanding breeding with a genetic gold mine behind her.   She has great swing and elasticity and the sweetest temperament. We are sure she will will follow in her big brother and sisters footsteps and go on to be a superstar!

Once every few years we are blessed with something truly special. Quite simply this colt takes my breath away. He is everything I have dreamed of and more.

His sire is World Champion Sezuan and his dam is our homebred Pr. St. Larkshill Supremacy by De Niro who is the full sister to Larkshill Debonair licensed stallion and Badmington Young Horse Champion. This colt oozes presence, he is bold, full of confidence and the movement ....well it's amazing.He has totally seduced me so we have called him Larkshill Seduction.

I fell in love with Grand Galaxy Win T when I saw him license in Holland in 2014. He went on to be the Danish Stallion Licensing Champion and do a superb KWPN performance test too. I just knew I had to use him in my breeding programme and I am so pleased I paired him with Bugatti!

The result is Larkshill Karisma, an absolutely breath taking black filly who is so charismatic! She is a real beauty with the most exquisite head, superb conformation, powerful elevated paces and an excellent hind leg.

We have just returned from another very interesting visit to the KWPN stallion licensing. Over  the 4 days we saw so many talented stallions and it was great to see a lot of the stallions who licensed last year show off under saddle this year. Highlights for me were Grand Galaxy Win T (Apache/Jazz) - we are super excited to have one of his first foals ever -  our elite mare Bugatti is due on the 17 March! I also loved Glamourdale (Lord Leatherdale x Negro) who was the Champion last year and the Reserve Champion Governor (Totilas x Jazz) – all 3 of these stallions are on my short list to use this year.

The Champion this year was Johnson x Rousseau, Reserve Champion Apache x Ferro (my favourite) and third Wynton x Cabochon. If I am honest none of the stallions in the Championship ring particularly stood out for me this year but that sometimes happens, it will be interesting to see how they do in their performance tests.

I am delighted to announce a very special new partnership with talented young rider Daisy Jackson. I have known Daisy for 6 years and from the very first day I met her I was so impressed with her dedication, talent and passion for horses and the sport.

I have been very fortunate with my breeding programme and we have so many fantastic supporters and owners of Larkshill horses all around the world, I thought it was time to give a little something back, to someone who really deserves it. So I have given her a half share in one of my top young horses, Larkshill Divinity by Don Frederico out of St Pr St Ronja.

When Divinity was born we knew he was special, but then he should be - he is the full brother to a licensed Stallion, to a Bundeschampionate qualifier winner, a young horse Champion in South Africa to name but a few.

What a fabulous Christmas present from my good friend Tanja Davis. She has photographed Debonair for me and he looks absolutely stunning!

We bred Debonair and sold him as a foal to Bruce Matthews as a stallion prospect. Bruce believed in him and continues to give him every opportunity to fulfill his potential and we are very grateful. Debonair (now with Bruce's Shamwari prefix) licensed Oldenburg and British Warmblood in 2012 and in 2014 was crowned the Badminton Young Horse Champion with his super rider Leah Beckett. His first foal crop have been outstanding with several Premium and Futurity Elite foals. This young stallion continues to delight and to have such stunning photos of him means the world to me. What a privilege to be able to watch Charlotte Dujardin and Valegro smash another World record - their second in 2 days! Their test was magical and brought tears to my eyes, they scored 94.3% with 25 x the mark of 10! What an achievement all made possible by her mentor and co owner of Valegro the legendary Carl Hester! The standard was very high and Edward Gal was second with 83.550%, riding Glock's Undercover and Germany's Jessica Von Bredow-Werndl (80.723%) was third with Unee BB by Gribaldi who was a stunning horse. Carl was fifth riding Nip Tuck.

We had another wonderful visit to the Oldenburg stallion licensing in Vechta. My favourite from day one ( along with the rest of the crowd!) was Morricone by Millennium x Rubin Royal and he became the worthy Champion.

 What a coup for his sire the Trakehner stallion Millennium. In his first foal crop he had the Champion at Oldenburg, the Champion the Trakehner Licensing and two Premium licensed sons in Westphalia! I watched Millennium himself licence in 2010 and that day he was my Champion although the judges had him 3rd!

For me the Premium ring was a little disappointing this year
(with the exception of the Zack and Totilas) as many of the mega movers this year were branded by other stud books, meaning they could not be in the Premium ring.

Well that's all this years foals safely weaned and happily settled. The mares know the routine so well by now, they quietly leave their babies and go into their weaning field without a care in the world - happy for a bit of well earned R&R!

What clever mares and foals we have, I am so proud of the way they have all handled it again this year. Now lots of hugs with the babies before they go to their wonderful new homes.

I am a very happy breeder!

I attended the KWPN horse days and foreign visitors course and what an inspirational visit it turned out to be.

It was fascinating to learn all about the Dutch evaluation of young horses and stallion selection procedures. We learnt how to do the linear scoring of conformation and movement and we even did some practice judging at the Pavo cup too! For me the highlight was having 24/7 access to the top judges who were with us all the time - we could pick their brains about stallions and mare families and indeed about anything - it was fabulous and I learnt so much from it.

Of course it was fantastic to watch the competitions, the 4 & 5 year old Pavo Cup the mare Championship and foal Championships all with our own personalized commentary about the horses and their merits.

Now any trip would not be complete without me falling in love and this one was no exception. The mare that stole my heart in the mare Championships was Gumathika M ( Apache x Sandro Hit x Ferro ) sister of licensed stallion Dundee M - for me she was my Champion mare ..... watch this space about more exciting news about this mare!

What a fabulous few days in Verden watching the best young dressage horses in the world!

The 5 and 6 year old classes were hotly contested and I am delighted to say Sezuan, sire of Larkshill Absolut, Sensation and Spectacular, was crowned 5 year old World Champion! It was an honour to watch him and we even met him too he really is a magnificent stallion. He scored 9.76 overall and a 10 for his canter! The winner of the 6 year old class was stallion Dancer (Vivaldi x Tango).

We are so thrilled to announce that Larkshill Debonair (De Niro x Elite & St Pr St Show Hit) has been crowned the Badminton Young Dressage Champion!

Previous winners of this prestigious Championship title include Valegro, Uthopia and Woodlander Farouche!

There were 47 in the class including many 5 year olds (Debonair is only 4) and he was the only one to receive 9's. His final score was 86% and he was the clear winner.

Huge credit goes to his super talented rider Leah Beckett who rode him beautifully. Top Judge Peter Storr commented on how well she presented him, especially bearing in mind he is a young stallion and said he was a horse with real international potential.

Debonair has been superbly produced by Lynne Crowden of Woodlander Stud since he was 2 years old and huge credit goes to the whole team at Woodlander for his continued success. Lastly congrats and thanks to his wonderful owner Bruce Matthews for making this all happen!

Larkshill Debonair has won the Shearwater 4 year old International Potential Dressage qualifier at Hartpury with 84.6%!!

I am so proud of Debonair coping with a big show atmosphere after a busy week of breeding duties as a stallion. He came 3rd on Saturday in the National Shearwater class and obviously had a good nights sleep to show himself at his best on Sunday!

More great news about Larkshill Sovereign (Kaiserkult TSF x St.Pr.St &.Pr.St. Saturday Night Fever). He impressed again with a 28.5 dressage and super double clear to win his Novice class at Great Witchingham with Ruth Edge!

Elite & St Pr St Show Hit has an outstanding filly who's athleticism knows no boundaries! Her scope, movement, conformation and breeding ensures she has a great chance of a career as a top competition horse. She has a great combination of genetic talent. Wonderful news - Larkshill Debonair by De Niro ridden by Leah Beckett, won the Shearwater 4 year old Dressage horse qualifier at Bury Farm with a very impressive 91% - the highest score achieved so far this year. It was only his second competition so we were thrilled with him.

What a wonderful trip, first to Holland for the KWPN stallion show and we were lucky enough to have a VIP table which gave us the best seats in the house to assess the young stallions. With Carl Hester doing a master class with Chippendale and Charlotte riding Valegro it was a real treat! Next was a visit to Ad Valk dressage and another top breeder in Holland, we were really spoilt for choice seeing such strength in depth of quality horses. Then we went on to Germany for the Private Hanoverian Stallion show followed by a private viewing at The Dressage Horse Performance Center Lodbergen home of Dante Weltino, Follow Me and For Romance before going to the Schockemöhle show.

So the conclusion is after looking at nearly 200 stallions ........... I need more broodmares!

Larkshill Debonair by De Niro out of St.Pr.St. Show Hit was super cool at the British Stallion Show last weekend and showed off his super paces. I am so proud of him, he really took it all in his stride. He has only recently returned from Germany where he successfully passed his 30 day test with flying colours! The Licensing Champion stallion was also by De Niro out of a Rosario mare. He was my Champion from day one, on the lunge he really impressed. I met his breeder and owner and his girlfriend who rides Fürstenball – all lovely people and great contacts for the future. He was sold to Andreas Helgstrand for 910,000 euros! We spent Sunday visiting studs including Klosterhof Medingen home of De Niro, Caprimond and the late Hohenstein and Gestuet Horem visiting Connery - what joy!

We have known the Sieverding family since 2009 when we visited their farm and met all their horses and managed to persuade them to let me have
Pr St Machita for our breeding programme. Over the years Georg has been so generous with his time and has really taken me under his wing and taught me so much about bloodlines and breeding I will forever be grateful – he is a truly inspiring breeder and good friend.

Another amazing win for Larkshill Sovereign (Kaiserkult TSFx St Pr St Saturday Night Fever) and Ruth Edge at Skipton horse trials in the 5 year old class!

Sovereign and Ruth were the convincing winners, getting a score of 10 for their dressage (the equivalent to 90% in pure dressage!) this is the best ever eventing dressage score Ruth has been awarded, they got four 10's! They finished on a score of 15.60. Huge congratulations to his owner Pauline Fletcher and to his rider Ruth Edge from a very proud breeder!

Thank you to Louise, the lovely owner of Larkshill Total Triumph for a wonderful day seeing "Toto" and meeting all her other super horses. He really is in a 5 * star home. He has all the care and attention he needs, with turnout everyday with his Shetland companion and as for his stable....... well is the nearly the size of my barn!! - Lucky boy!

His is by Totilas out of our State Premium and stallion mother Show Hit. I wonder if Toto will follow in his big brother Debonair's s footsteps? All I know is he is developing into a sensational young colt and I am so proud of him.

The real highlight for me was to visit Gertjan and Anne Van Olst’s stables to meet the Legendary Negro and see their amazing breeding operation, thanks to Rob Lickley for arranging it.

I don’t think I have ever walked into a stallion barn full of such gorgeous stallions EVER – the strength in depth of quality was awe inspiring! They had 50 yearling colts all with top pedigrees, I bet we will see some of them license in 2 years time! Now I really can’t wait for our Negro foal out of Elite mare Bugatti – Only 28 days and counting!

What a fantastic start to 2013!

We have just heard from Jane Jones in Australia that Larkshill Desert Storm has been Licensed with the Australian Warmblood Association!

He is by Dr Doolittle out of the very beautiful mare Aika by Fürst Heinrich / Rubinstein. We sold Storm as a stallion prospect when he was a foal to Australia and we are absolutely thrilled that he has fulfilled all our dreams and Licensed. Huge congratulations to his owner Jane Jones.

We had amazing time at the Oldenburg Stallion licensing and met up with lots of friends.

The highlight was being privileged to see the Champion stallion "Follow Me" ( pictured left) by the sensational Fürstenball. He was the Champion in my eyes from day one at the trot up - he took my breath away. All three paces were exceptional. This was Fürstenball's first foal crop and what an achievement to breed the Champion! Congratulations to Fürstenball's breeder Georg Sieverding (Machita's breeder) and to Follow Me's breeder Jürgen Fetzer.

The Elite stallion De Niro (by Donnerhall x Akzent II x Wiesenbaum xx) has topped the WBFSH Dressage Sire Ranking. De Niro's offspring has been most successful at Grand Prix level the past year. Previous leaders include Donnerhall and Jazz.

De Niro is sire of our homebred licensed stallion Larkshill Debonair and full sister BEF Elite and Premium mare Larkshill Supremacy and Premium foals Larkshill Decadence and Larkshill Affinity .

I've always loved this fabulous stallion, he is so consistent, he really produces quality foals. What an achievement as such an early age!

We are thrilled with this news as St.Pr.St. Ronja is in foal to Don Frederico for 2013.

Ronja's 2006 foal Darnell by Don Frederico Licensed with the Oldenburg Verband in 2008 and went on to win a Bundeschampionate Qualifier last year with a  score of 8.3. He went on to sell for 190,000 – Euros.

A Don Frederico daughter of Ronja’s St Pr St Diva was Champion Mare at 2 & 3 years old was awarded State Premium Status this year!

Ruth and Sovereign go from strength to strength, pictured here on their way to winning the 4 year old class at Milton Keynes Eventing Centre with a double clear and ending on a superb dressage score of 26.5!

Another brilliant result for a young horse who was only backed in April this year!

We have wonderful news that Larkshill Sovereign ridden by Ruth Edge has qualified for the Burghley Young Event Horse Final at his first attempt!

This was his first ever competition and there were 77 in the class and he came 2nd, with very good scores. He is now 4 years old and a strapping 16.3. Apparently has such a big engine he is not sure what to do with all the power yet!

Huge congratulations to his owner Pauline Fletcher and to his rider Ruth Edge.

Libitina has done it again - another stunning foal by World Champion Dimaggio. Dreamweaver is only the second colt Libitina has ever given us & he was definitely worth the wait! Click here for more photos.

He has very long legs, is elegant & refined with the most beautiful head. Even at a few days old he is already showing very powerful elevated movement. He is inquisitive & bold & seems to know just how gorgeous he is!

I am delighted to introduce Larkshill Cascadia & her fabulous colt by Uthopia!

Cascadia is by Grand Prix & Elite Stallion Gribaldi (sire of Totilas) out of a Ferro mare, whom I owned and bred to Gribaldi. It's so lovely to have her home!

Her foal Larkshill Heritage (stable name Hester), is already showing tremendous movement, with a lot of suppleness, elasticity & engagement in all three gaits & he is drop dead gorgeous too! We are hoping he has inherited the Grand Prix genes of his famous sires Uthopia, Gribaldi & the Legendary Ferro!

This filly is quite extraordinary and is a huge powerful mover. She is already showing off her Grand Prix moves in the field. I am thrilled with her!

She is certainly making the most of the glorious weather we have been having and spends all day playing in the sunshine. What a lucky foal!

Congratulations to Edward Gal and the amazing stallion Moorlands Totilas who claimed their 3rd Gold medal in the Grand Prix Freestyle at the 2010 World Equestrian Games. He and the Dutch Team scooped Team Gold, and then he went on to win Gold for the Grand Prix Special and then they made it a hat-trick winning the Freestyle scoring a sensational 91.8%!

Also huge congrats go to Laura Bechtolsheimer, who produced a personal best score of 85.35 with Mistral Hojris to become the first ever British rider to take three medals at a World Dressage Championship - Silver in the Team, Special and Freestyle!

We are thrilled and so excited that St.Pr.St. Show Hit is in foal to Totilas, it will be black and the foetal sexing indicates it's a colt - hopefully it will be a mini Toto! !

Affinity was the youngest foal presented at the Solihull Futurity and was amazing. At 4 weeks old she showed maturity beyond her years.

The judges loved her and gave her a Higher First Premium Award! She got a fantastic 9 for her walk, 8.25 for her trot & 17 for her athleticism & 8 .75 for her attitude! They commented that she will be even more impressive when she is older & stronger. They said that she is one to watch for the future & predicts she will have a very promising dressage career ahead of her!

Totilas took the dressage world by storm last year and received standing ovations where ever he competed, breaking one world record after another!

We are delighted to introduce Zouelle. She is a real beauty with three powerful, elevated paces and she is such a sweetie!! Her breeding is amazing, she is by the Champion stallion Special D (Métall / Ferro) out of a Preferent mare by Equador (Voltaire). This is a seriously impressive mare from a blue chip dam line full of Preferent and Keur mares. She is in foal to Licensing, Performance Test & Pavo Cup Champion Wynton for a 2011 foal.

We are meant to be selling this mare, but I am slowly and surely falling in love!

We are delighted to announce that St.Pr.St. Show HIt has been approved to breed to the sensational Moorlands Totilas in his first year at stud.

Totilas took the dressage world by storm last year and received standing ovations where ever he competed, breaking one world record after another! He was the winner of the European Championships 2009 and the World Cup Final 2010. The owners of Totilas wanted to be sure that he only breeds to mares of exceptional quality - hence the very strict approval process. How exciting - a Totilas foal for 2011!

I have been following the horses bred by one exceptional breeder from one extraordinary mare family. That breeder is Herr Sieverding in Germany.

His phenomenal mare family has produced more Champions and Premium mares than any other in Modern Oldenburg History. They produced not only the 2007 Oldenburg Licensing Champion Sieger Hit, but also the 2008 Oldenburg Licensing Champion Fürstenball (who sold as a foal for 110,000 euros!) and in 2009 the second Reserve Champion Hot Spot owned by Blue Hors stud as well as 2 other graded stallions!

What an amazing few days. We are just back from Holland for the KWPN stallion days & Germany for the stallion shows. We were thoroughly spoilt by the KWPN and got to see so many quality stallions. There was a showcase of Jazz sons including a special demo by Parcival, Gribaldi was awarded a Preferent & his two sons Painted Black and Totilas performed for us! Totilas being awarded KWPN Horse of the Year! It has given me much food for thought & a real insight into the up and coming Dutch sires.

Then onto Germany, to see my new mare (more to follow...) and to watch the sensational Fürstenball at the Schockemöhle show. As soon I saw this young stallion at the 2008 Oldenburg grading I fell in love. He became Champion of the grading and last year was Champion of his performance test scoring a massive 154 for his dressage. He was phenomenal under saddle - I am well and truly smitten!

We have just heard from Jane Jones in Australia that Desert Storm ( Aika x Dr Doolittle) is loving all the sunshine and attention in his new 5 * home. We are eagerly awaiting her next foal by De Niro.

I am just back from spending a week with my sister and nieces in Abu Dhabi and I am thrilled to say both Charlotte and Madelaine won their FEI classes in Dubai!!

Charlotte won the FEI adult Advanced class on her new horse Ronaldo and is also the overall winner in her FEI Zone at this level! What makes this win so thrilling is that Charlotte is only 16 and managed to beat all the adults to win the class in only her third ever competition at this level. She had only had Ronaldo in the UAE for 2 months so the partnership is still developing and I can't wait to see them in future competitions. We spent the summer touring Europe looking at horses and finally found Ronaldo in Holland, a KWPN 11 year old gelding by Jet Set D.

Now onto Maddie! She has taken over the ride on Sugar Creek Willy and has had some amazing results (better than her big sister managed with this horse but shhhh don't say I said so!). Maddie was the highest qualified rider with many wins at over 70% and is building a great partnership with Sugar. She surpassed herself on the day and won the Junior Elementary class! I am so thrilled as dressage is Sugar's second career, having been a race horse in the US previously. Well done both!

How fabulous for me to have 2 riders in the wings, now all I need to do is get the Larkshill horse ready for them!

Well we have just finished our tour of Germany where we attended both the Oldenburg and Hanoverian Stallion Licensing, as well as meeting up with many German breeders! We make sure we go every year as it is the
only way to get a real understanding of the bloodlines
and see potential sires face to face.

Highlights for me this year were the two Premium Danone l sons. The black Danone I x Welt Hit II x Noble Roi xx was the Reserve Champion at the Oldenburgs and was sold for 130,000 euros to Switzerland and we believe will be standing with Marcus Gribbe. (see photo)

Larkshill Supremacy is a Movie Star!

Congratulations to Sarkozy on a fabulous 30 day Stallion Performance test. He scored an amazing 9.01 for his Dressage and was the Reserve Champion.

His huge paces were rewarded with excellent scores: canter 9.13, trot 8.69 and we are delighted that for his walk he received 9.5, which is very impressive, especially for a Sandro Hit son! He received a score of 8.88 for both his rideability and his conformation.

De Niro Is Named Stallion of the Year 2008

Congratulations to De Niro on being awarded the Hanoverian Stallion of the Year 2008. De Niro is the sire of Larkshill Supremacy who has exceeded all of our expectations this year - being awarded one of the very few Elite scores at the BEF Futurity and receiving the prestigious Premium title from the Oldenburg Verband. Her dam St Pr St Show Hit, is back in foal to De Niro for 2009 and we are eagerly awaiting the next little superstar! De Niro is also the dam sire of our fabulous colt Fürst Larkshill who is currently in Germany training.

Symphoniker is Approved by the BWBS!

Today Symphoniker has been graded as a stallion with the BWBS.

We selected and purchased Symphoniker as a stallion prospect at the 2006 Hanoverian Elite Foal Auction in Germany. He was bred in Germany by Peter-Hermann & Waltraud Rabeler.

Sky has an amazing black filly by De Niro at 5.30am.

This filly is everything we dreamed of tall, elegant and powerful - just like mum really!

We have named her Larkshill Supremacy as she is the best foal we have bred and we know she will be a star!

Libitina decides to have her foal 3 weeks early at 5.30pm- a fabulous black filly by Stedinger.

We are thrilled with this little filly, she is elegant, refined and is already showing superb movement. She is very confident and has a HUGE personality - she is definitely a 'one off' so we have named her Larkshill's Limited Edition!

We absolutely adore her!

Pinakothek was bred at the legendary German Stud Klosterhof Medingen and this mare has it all. Breathtaking movement, the sweetest of temperaments and amazing looks - she is sensational!

We have nick named her Prada as she is so stylish and could be on the catwalk! She is by Premium stallion Donauwalzer and is in foal to Karolinger ll (E.H. Latimer x E.H. Hohenstein).

Spirit is a talented Show Jumper!

We have just received an update from Donna, Spirit of Orion's owner.

Spirit is still his cheeky lovable self and he has been doing incredibly well at show jumping. He is already winning at discovery level and he is now jumping clear at newcomers (1.10m). Congratulations Donna and Spirit - we can't wait to come and cheer you on!

Not to be outdone by his big brother, Rheinzauber also excelled. Rheinzauber was the Reserve Foal Champion and top colt foal at only 6 weeks old!

He was the youngest foal at the show and was amazing, so bold and confident. He won his age class and then went on to be the Reserve Champion. The German judges commented on his outstanding type and conformation with excellent movement despite his young age. Another one to be kept entire as a stallion prospect! As usual Zippy captured the hearts of everyone and many gave him a cuddle!

And then it was Mum's turn!

Rheindayla and her 2 sons Rheinking and Rheinzauber are the Reserve Mare Family Champions.

Dali was very pleased as all of them now had their Championship sashes and of course we were exceptionally proud of all of them.

Tarino went to his first dressage competition on Sunday and was brilliant. He won both of his classes scoring 66% and 71%.

He was so calmed and relaxed, working in quietly in the indoor school. When it came to his tests he was a bit more talkative, much to everyone's amusement!

Symphoniker is a stunning black colt by Stedinger by Sandro Hit. Stedinger was the unequivocal Champion of the 2002 Oldenburg Grading and first reserve champion of the 2004 main premium ring. To date he has 5 Licensed sons including the champion of the 2006 Oldenburg Keuring Status Quo.

Dream Boy is a stylish dark bay colt with wonderful paces by Don Romantic by Don Schufro. Don Romantic was the Champion of the stallion grading in Herning. He was also the Champion of the material test at Vilhelmsborg and received 10’s for both his canter and ridability.

We only took one horse this year, Lexi our yearling filly by
E.H. Hohenstein and wow were we are  pleased we took her!

She won her yearling class and then went on to win the Young stock Championship – we were thrilled the German judges liked her so much.

September 2006 - Oldenburg Verband Inspection

Tango is awarded a Premium!

We took Tango (Fürst Larkshill) by Fürst Heinrich on his first outing with his dam Monik by De Niro. He attended the Oldenburg Verband’s foal inspection and we are thrilled that he was awarded a premium. The representative from the Verband liked him very much and said he had very good movement and excellent conformation and is a super prospect for the future!

September 2005 – Trakehners UK Show

We had a fantastic show. Libitina together with Lexi and Lakota won the Mare Family Championship - great news for Libitina who produces one superb foal after another!  Libitina really loved doing her lap of honor with her two kids!

August 2005 – Best British Dressage Foal Show

Libitina does it again – her second foal to receive 82% - what a consistent producer of quality foals. It was Lexi’s first outing and wow did she shine in the ring. She took it all in her stride and loved the attention. She scored 82% and was the highest placed Trakehner and came 13th out of 75 dressage foals – we were delighted!

Libitina and Lakota did brilliantly at their first outing. Not only did Lakota load easily and travel like a pro, she then strutted her stuff in the ring and won her class and scored an impressive 82%.  Her scores were Type 8.5, Frame 8.0, Conformation 8.0, Movement 8.0, Overall 8.5.

This qualified her for the evening Championship which was amazing fun. After a quick nap, (where she was heard to be whinnying in her sleep!) Lakota came out fresh for the Championship where she was placed 7th overall out of a total of 62 foals – needless to say we were over the moon and a little bit merry!
