Spirit has turned out to be a talented show jumper!

We have just received an update from Donna, Spirit's owner. He is still his cheeky lovable self and he has been doing incredibly well at show jumping. He is already winning at discovery level and he is now jumping clear at newcomers (1.10m).

A handsome black colt with three superb elastic paces to make 16 hands. Spirit has a fantastic temperament very sweet natured - always the first to come over for cuddles! Spirit has found a lovely new home with Donna Harris.

Spirit's sire The Star of Orion is a stunning black Trakehner stallion with an exceptional temperament. He was bred at the famous Liski Stud. His sire Aspirant was the leading Sire of the stud, and his Grandsire, Poprad performed at the Mexico and Munich Olympics.

The Star of Orion qualified for ten national dressage championships at the age of six and at seven was competing at Intermediare 1, showing wonderful piaffe and passage. He has been placed in horse trials and affiliated show jumping. His offspring are already winners under saddle and in the show ring, including the Royal.

Spirit’s dam is a lovely Trakehner mare by Muschamp Danube who was a prolific sire of successful Advanced Event Horses, Show Jumpers, Dressage Horses and European Individual Medalist Driving Horses. It was the famous Muschamp Stud who brought the first Trakehners into the county. The grand dam’s was a thoroughbred, Holme Grove Bo Peep. This mare was outstanding as few TB mares are accepted into the Trakehner studbook, but she was!
