We are currently overstocked and so Schweben will be offered for sale upon weaning her foal. Her colt foal by His Highness this year (Larkshill Highgrove) is outstanding as is being retained by the stud as a stallion prospect. Her filly by Caprimond was also excellent with superb Trakehner type. Both foals inherited Schweben's amazing movement. She is a very good mother and easy breeder.
Schweben is by Maestro who was successful at Prix St Georges as well as a breeding stallion. He now stands in France were he is very popular. Matador was approved in 1977 in Neumünster and has been said by the German Trakehner Verband to be "one of the most important stallions of the last 40 years, both in the number of registered descendants and in the quality of his transmission." He was also the 1982 DGL Champion. Matador was sired by Donauwind, who himself sired several famous sons including Abdullah whose winning list goes on and on, including gold metals and many Grand Prix winnings for show jumping. Donauwind stood at stud in West Germany and Denmark prior to being imported to the US in 1982. Donauwind as said by the German Trakehner Verband to be "very high quality, with very good breed and stallion type, and one of the best progenitors of the postwar time; has pleasant disposition and easy to ride".
Her damsire is the popular foundation stallion Patron is regarded as the most important upgrading sires in the Trakehner breed. He had the reputation as a sure producer of very rideable dressage horses. Patron sired many state premium mares and 13 approved stallions including Pasternak, who is approved for Rheinland and Mackensen, who himself was champion of his 100 day test in Neumunster in 1978 and who also produced a number of approved stallions. Her Great Dam Grandsire Rubin competed successfully at Grand Prix. The German Trakehner Verband list him as “a well defined type with an expressive face, great nobility in his overall appearance, outstanding trot action and very good canter.” Rubin produced four licensed sons in Germany before being exported to Canada. His sire’s (Flanuer) & his Dam’s (Reglinde) bloodlines are found in some of the top European Hanoverian, Oldenberg and Trakehner dressage horses such as: Hohenstein, Caprimond, His Highness, Herzensdieb, Contucci, Enrico Caruso, Peron, Mahagoni, Arogano & Partout.
